Do Patti: Kriti Sanon auditioned 10 actors before locking Shaheer Sheikh

Television heartthrob Shaheer Sheikh will be making his Bollywood debut with Kajol and Kriti Sanon’s upcoming mystery-thriller, Do Patti. The Mahabharat actor will romance Kriti on screen, who plays a double role as twin sisters Saumya and Shelly. Shaheer’s character Dhruv plays a pivotal part in the film as the twin sisters fight over him – which ultimately leads to a crime.
During the trailer launch event of the film, Kriti, who is also producing the film, said that it was important to cast the correct person as Dhruv as his chemistry with Kriti is essential for the story. And for that, the actress auditioned with as many as 10 actors.
Revealing the story behind casting Shaheer, the writer of the film Kanika Dhillon said, “Just an example of how hands-on Kriti was. Kriti’s like, ‘Last 10 rounds, I’ll audition with 10 people’. And those last 10 people left, Kriti herself went and auditioned with each of those 10 candidates, did that scene over and over. Most of them got nervous seeing Kriti audition with them.”
Kriti added, “To be honest, I think it was so important to find the correct Dhruv. You know, because again, the character has so many layers. And the chemistry has to work in a certain way. So, I was glad that we did the audition.”
Do Patti will be released on Netflix on October 25.
