Kajol reveals why she chose Shah Rukh Khan over Salman Khan in KKHH

Kajol recently opened up about her iconic roles in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (KKHH) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), particularly her choice of Shah Rukh Khan over Salman Khan. During her appearance on Expresso, she humorously referred to her decision in KKHH as a toxic choice, acknowledging that while it might not reflect ideal relationship standards, it was correct script-wise.

Reflecting on her role as Simran in DDLJ, Kajol expressed disagreement with several of Simran’s decisions, especially the tradition of fasting on Karwa Chauth. When Kriti Sanon mentioned Shah Rukh’s character fasting for Simran, Kajol questioned the necessity of such traditions, emphasizing her belief that women often impose pressures on themselves.

Kajol stated, “Feminism has nothing to do with a man; it has to do with a woman, and how she sees herself,” highlighting the importance of self-perception and empowerment. Kajol will soon be seen alongside Kriti Sanon in the upcoming OTT release, Do Patti, set to premiere this Friday.
