Nayanthara Plays a Fierce Mother in Her Next Film Rakkayie

Actress Nayanthara today released the title teaser of her upcoming film, Rakkayie and it sees the Lady Superstar in a fierce avatar. The trailer begins with her preparing for a fight as an army of men stand outside her small hut with torches in their hands. She does this to protect her baby from those men. She then comes out with a weapon in her hand and takes on the crowd all alone. The teaser gives a glimpse of the fearless character the actress will be portraying in the film.

She wrote, “In a land where justice is but a memory…There lived a mother whose world was her child…But when her daughter’s life is threatened by a monster… She does not flee…She does not falter… Instead, she declares war..”

The film was announced on her birthday. It is written and directed by Senthil Nallasamy. 

Nayanthara’s documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale has also been released today on OTT. It offers fans a closer look into the superstar’s life and traces her journey from her humble beginning to stardom. It also details the love story of her and filmmaker husband Vignesh Shivan.
