Allu Arjun holds press conference after Pushpa 2 theatre stampede incident

The Sandhya theatre stampede incident in Hyderabad during Pushpa 2’s premiere led to a woman’s death while her son was critically injured. More recently, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged Allu Arjun made an appearance at the theatre although the police denied permission and stayed even after a woman lost her life in the stampede.

Now, Allu Arjun has held a press conference to break his silence about the allegations against him. During the conference, the actor said, “There is a lot of misinformation that I behaved in a particular way (irresponsibly). These allegations are wrong. It’s humiliating and a character assassination. There is a lot of misinformation going on, a lot of false allegations, especially character assassination. Had there not been permission, they would have told us to return and I am a law-abiding citizen. I would’ve followed that. Nothing of that sort of information was given to me. I was following as per their guidance.”

He further added, “It is an unfortunate incident and genuinely speaking nobody is at fault… I genuinely think that nobody should be blamed, and I am not here to blame anybody or to blame any department or the government. I am actually thankful to the government because they have been very supporting to the film industry. This is just to state that there is a lot of misinformation and false allegations, and it is just to clear that I’ve not said anything like that. Please don’t judge me… And I just want to say that three years of my life I have put into this film and it means everything to me, and I just went to see it in the theatre and I have been to this theatre 20-30 times, and there has been information that I’ve been very irresponsible while going to the theatre which is not true at all”
