Oscar 2025 nominations unveil postponed amid Los Angeles wildfires
1 min readThe nominations for the 97th Academy Awards have been delayed for a second time. This time, it’s due to the tragic wildfires in Los Angeles.
Earlier, the Academy extended the voting period by two days for jury members to cast their vote and the nomination announcements were pushed to January 19. Now, the Oscars 2025 nominations will be announced on January 23.
The Academy’s chief executive Bill Krmaer and president Janet Yang confirmed that the accouncement will be made virtually and not in-person.
The Oscars ceremony is still set to take place on March 2, 2025. It will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Ovation Hollywood.
