Yash Chopra was an Indian director, screenwriter, and the most successful producer of Bollywood in India. He founded Yash Raj Films, arguably the largest film production firm in India. Chopra is the only filmmaker to have five times received the Indian National Film Award for best popular picture. He also garnered a lot of Filmfare awards, including 12 nominations and four wins for best director and 15 nominations and four wins for best picture. In 2001, the Indian government awarded him the Dadasaheb Phalke Prize for lifetime achievement in film, and in 2005, he got one of the nation’s highest civilian honours, the Padma Bhushan.
