Coldplayâs India Tour: Traffic restrictions and safety guidelines announced

As Navi Mumbai gears up for Coldplay’s mega concert at Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21, traffic restrictions have been put in place to ensure smooth movement and public safety. The city’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tirupati Kakade, has announced that heavy vehicles, including goods carriers, will not be allowed to enter, travel, or park within the Navi Mumbai Police jurisdiction during the event. These restrictions will be enforced from 2 PM to 12 AM on the concert days, though vehicles carrying essential goods, ambulances, and government vehicles will be exempt.

Concertgoers and commuters have been advised to avoid roads near the stadium during restricted hours and plan alternate routes. The authorities have assured that adequate measures are in place to facilitate emergency services during this period. This event is especially significant as it marks Coldplay’s return to India after nearly a decade, with their last performance in the country taking place in 2016.

Coldplay’s Mumbai shows are part of their highly anticipated India tour, which also includes two concerts in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26, 2025. Initially scheduled for just one night, the Ahmedabad event was extended due to overwhelming demand.
