The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards has been postponed to January 26, 2025, due to the devastating California wildfires. The event was originally set for January 12, 2025.
A statement was released by Critics Choice Awards on X. The rescheduled event will still take place at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and will be aired live on E! News.
It will also be available for streaming on the OTT platform Peacock, the following day.
The statement by Joey Berlin, the CEO of Critics Choice Awards, read, “This unfolding tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community. All our thoughts and prayers are with those battling the devastating fires and with all who have been affected.”

Meanwhile, the Oscar nominations have been pushed due to the ongoing wildfires, as reported by Variety.
The announcement of nominees for the 97th Academy Awards, which was initially set for January 17, 2025, will now be held on January 19, 2025.
The deadline for voting has been extended by two days to January 14, 2025. The ceremony will take place on March 2, 2025, as planned.
The report also included an email, outlining the date changes, sent by CEO Bill Kramer to members.
He said, “We want to offer our deepest condolences to those who have been impacted by the devastating fires across Southern California…So many of our members and industry colleagues live and work in the Los Angeles area, and we are thinking of you.”
The Palisades Fire has become the most destructive fire in LA’s history. Firefighters in California are battling the raging wildfires, which has already destroyed hundreds of homes, and pushed firefighting resources and water supplies to their limits.
