EXCLUSIVE: Shalini Passi on her bond with Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan

Shalini Passi grabbed eyeballs with her appearance in Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives alongside Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Panday, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Seema Sajdeh and more. In an exclusive interview with Filmfare, she opened up about her bond with Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan.

Heaping praise on Shah Rukh Khan, Shalini Passi whose husband Sanjay Passi was the star’s batchmate, shared, “I really admire him. He’s so intelligent and he’s such a kind-hearted, good human being. And what a journey he has had. He has inspired people like nobody else. You wouldn’t find anyone who has inspired audiences who have just started watching movies to someone who is 80. He’s a phenomenon.”

She added, “What I learnt from him is to read. I never read and he ends up reading so many books in one go. I’ve also learnt a lot from the way he is with his kids, his extended family and friends. I’m blessed to have known him and Gauri.”  

Shalini first met the couple when they attended her wedding festivities back in the late ‘90s. Opening up about her friendship with Gauri Khan and her reaction to the show, she shared, “Gauri watched the show. After watching the first few episodes, she called me and said that she loved it and that she was proud of me. All my friends were very nervous, especially people who know me well because I speak my mind, I don’t gossip and my non-confrontational policy.”
