Sparsh Shrivastava, who played Deepak in Laapataa Ladies is on cloud nine after the movie’s entry as India’s representation for Oscars 2025. While the actor did not get a chance to meet the cast and crew after receiving the news, he hopes to go for a get-together with them soon.
Quipping about his chat with the show’s makers, the actor noted that Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are hoping to win the Oscars. “I had a small chat on WhatsApp. They are equally happy. They’re looking forward for the award to be now with us. Yes, everyone is happy,” he said.
The actor further spoke about his memorable interaction with Aamir Khan post the movie’s release. “I was at his house one day and we were watching the film. We were going to a festival and we saw the film together. After the movie concluded, he told me, ‘Sparsh, you have lifted the character above the paper,’ which means that you have performed better than what is written beautifully. I couldn’t believe it for a while. But then when the audience started giving love, that is when I started believing it.”
