In a shocking turn of events, legendary Hollywood actor Gene Hackman was found dead at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, alongside his wife, pianist Betsy Arakawa and pet dog. The tragic news has left the fans and the film industry in mourning. As new details about the death emerge, Gene’s daughter has shared details about her parents’ health condition before their passing.

Gene Hackman’s daughter reveals the actor was in good health

As per reports on Daily Mail, Gene Hackman’s younger daughter, Leslie Hackman, shared that the veteran actor was in good health given his age. She said, “Despite his age, he was in very good physical condition. He liked to do Pilates and yoga, and he was continuing to do that several times a week. So, he was in good health.”

She also shared that she had a close bond with her father. However, Leslie, who lives in California, revealed that she had not met him in the past couple of months. She further shared that her father’s passing was not “terribly shocking” since he was 95 at the time of his passing.

According to a US Weekly report, she shared that his memory was fading. She explained that he recently celebrated his birthday and his wife, Betsy, had to remind him thrice that it was his birthday.

The exact cause of Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa’s death has not been determined. An initial police statement maintained that they found the death’s circumstances suspicious. Gene was found dead in a room near the home’s kitchen while Betsy was discovered in the bathroom. Prescription pills were found around the body and a heater that had supposedly toppled over when she fell to the floor was also nearby. Further details about the case are awaited.
