Exciting news for Johnny Depp fans! The actor is returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer had previously mentioned that two versions of the movie were being made, one without Depp. However, it has now been confirmed that the makers have decided to bring back the OG Jack Sparrow.
Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow had become a worldwide sensation after the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003. Depp’s portrayal of the eccentric pirate captain garnered critical acclaim. It also earned him an Academy Award nomination and solidifying the character’s place in cinematic history. Fans have been sending good wishes to the actor after the news of him returning to the franchise went viral. Many congratulated the actor upon returning while others have been hopeful to see him again in the shoes of the incredible Jack Sparrow.
There have been many rumours about other potential reboot or instalment led by actress Ayo Edebiri. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
