Kajol shares throwback pic with Shah Rukh Khan as DDLJ completes 29 years

Aditya Chopra’s iconic romantic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge completed 29 glorious years today. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in lead roles, the film went on to become a love anthem for generations to come. It also positioned Shah Rukh as a quintessential romantic hero.

On the film’s 29th anniversary, Kajol took to social media to pay tribute to DDLJ with a throwback photo. In the picture, SRK’s character Raj can be seen carrying Simran (played by Kajol).

Referring to the scene where Raj fasted for Simran on Karva Chauth, she wrote, “29 years to the OG of Karva Chauth… wishing everyone a very hungry and successful Karva chauth .. maybe go to Maratha mandir and see the film 😜 #29yearsofddlj #ddlj”

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was written and directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by his father Yash Chopra.

Besides Shah Rukh and Kajol, the film also starred Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Satish Shah, Himani Shivpuri, Anupam Kher, Parmeet Sethi, Mandira Bedi and Pooja Ruparel.
