Karthi Gets Injured on Sardar 2 Sets Shooting Halted

Tamil actor Karthi reportedly injured his leg while shooting for his highly anticipated film Sardar 2. The accident happened while filming in Mysore. After the accident, Karthi was rushed to a nearby hospital where he received medical treatment. The doctors advised the actor to rest for a week. Shooting for Sardar 2 has been halted for a week.

As per reports on a leading news portal, the production team of Sardar 2 confirmed that shooting for the film would be pushed until Karthi fully recovers. The filming schedule will continue in Chennai after he’s cleared to return to work. According to multiple reports, 80 percent of the film has already been shot. Karthi’s injury won’t create a major scheduling setback.

Karthi and SJ Suryah were shooting for an intense Sardar 2 sequence

Karthi and SJ Suryah were reportedly shooting for an intense stunt sequence. Choreographed by Aavesham’s stunt coordinator, Chethan Ramshi D’Souza, the high-octane sequence will lead to the film’s climax.

Directed by PS Mithran, Sardar 2 will see Karthi play dual roles in a story that spans two different periods. The film began production back in 2024. Alongside Karthi, actress Rajisha Vijayan will reprise her role from the first film, while SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan and Ashika Ranganath will also play key roles.

Karthi’s upcoming films

Apart from Sardar 2, Karthi is set to star in Kaithi 2. The film, which will see him reunite with director Lokesk Kanagraj, will go into production sometime this year. It also features Arjun Das, Insane Ashraf, Harish Uthaman, Narain and more. The actor is also set to play a cop in Nalan Kymarasamy’s directorial Vaa Vaathiyaar. The film will arrive in theatres this year.
