Maharashtra Elections 2024: Akshay Kumar and Rajkummar Rao Step Out to Vote

Maharashtra prepares for its electoral process today. As polling booths have begun welcoming voters from 7 AM in the morning, Akshay Kumar and Rajkummar Rao were among the earliest to reach their respective booths and cast their valuable votes. Akshay donned a black shirt while casting his vote. He interacted with the paparazzi outside and showed confidence on the arrangements made by the officials. “The best thing is the arrangements are really good. I saw that planning was done well for senior citizens. It’s clean too. Yahi hai ki sab log aaye, vote kare (Everyone should come and vote). That is the most important thing,” he noted.

Rajkummar Rao also arrived at the booth early. Clad in a casual white ensemble, Rao interacted with the paparazzi and security personnel stationed outside the booth. “It is very important (to vote). Everyone, please step out and vote. This is the voting day, it is very important,” he added.

Other stars including Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Ali Fazal, John Abraham, and Kabir Khan also went to their respective polling booths to cast their votes.

Farhan Akhtar said, “I urge all people to come out and vote. It’s very important. It is our responsibility as a citizen of this city, state and country to be involved in its narrative…I hear that people complain about Mumbai and how it should be but when asked if they voted, they will say, ‘No, I didn’t.’ Then don’t complain. This is the one chance that you have to contribute as a citizen. So it is your responsibility.”
