Mithun Chakrabortys children celebrate his Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty was honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 70th National Film Awards for his contribution to Indian cinema. Following the ceremony, his daughter Dishani Chakraborty took to social media to pen a heart-warming post for her father, praising him for his achievement and highlighting the hard work done by him. 

She shared a photo of the actor receiving the award from President of India, Draupadi Murmu, and wrote, “A true example of a superstar, a legend, a champion, & a hero. Words can’t express how proud I am to be your daughter—not just every day, but especially today. You’ve worked so hard, faced every challenge with grace, & continue to inspire everyone around you. You deserve this more than anyone. I love you more than words can say & feel incredibly blessed to call you my dad. ðŸ™ÂÂ�ðŸÂÂ�¼âÂÂ�¤ï¸Ã‚Â�”

Mithun’s actor son Mahaakshay Chakraborty also shared a post dedicated to his father. He wrote, “What an amazing moment! Dad receiving the Dadasaab Phalke Award! âÂÂ�¤ï¸Ã‚Â�”

The veteran actor made his debut in 1976 with Mrinal Sen’s film Mrigayaa. This film bagged him his first National Award for Best Actor.

He made his Bengali film debut in 1978 with Nadi Theke Sagare and soon rose to stardom with films such as Shaukeen, Ashanti, Disco Dancer, Troyee, Ranjeeta and Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki among others.
