Mohanlal introduces Abhimanyu Singh as Balraj in L2: Empuraan

L2: Empuraan is shaping up to be quite an ambitious project. The latest buzz from the project is around Abhimanyu Singh, who has been introduced as one of the characters, Balraj.

Mohanlal dropped the poster for the third character in the film, which is Balraj. Abhimanyu is seen sitting with a rifle on his left hand. Clad in a red kurta, he seems to be sitting on a throne with a leader-like posture. During a recent interview, Abhimanyu spoke at length about his character. He said, “I play Balraj in Empuraan: Lucifer 2. Balraj is a really complex character. He is not just one thing. There are many layers to him. And that made playing him so interesting. As the story goes on, his character goes through a huge transformation. That shift in his character was something I really enjoyed working on.”
Apart from Abhimanyu, other stars to grace the movie include Mohanlal himself, along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Game of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn and more. Speaking about working with Sukumaran again, Mohanlal also said, “He is very good. This is my third film with him. Bro Daddy was a different film from Lucifer. He knows what he is doing, he is very keen on scripting. He is a sensitive director. He will give more importance to acting and is totally into the film.
The Mollywood star also added the movie demands action. While he has performed action in many of his previous film, the upcoming project has a different action type altogether.
The movie is set to be released on March 27, 2025 in five languages, namely Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. It is a sequel to 2019 film Lucifer where a political Godfather suddenly died and many wished to take his place and gain his power.
