Mufasa: The Lion King overtakes Men in Black 3 at the global box office

Barry Jenkins’ Mufasa: The Lion King is proving to be a huge box office success. The movie has been in the cinemas for one and a half months and still plans on moving up the ladder at the worldwide box office charts. Mufasa’s fans would be delighted to know that the recent installation in the franchise has successfully beaten Men in Black 3 and Ice Age: The Melt Down.

One of Hollywood’s leading portals, Collider, has recently confirmed that Mufasa: The Lion King has occupied the 99th spot in the 100 highest-grossing sequels of all-time list. The movie has cumulatively collected 687.30 million dollars worldwide. Fans are of the opinion that the movie may soon beat Star Wars Ep. II: Attack of the Clones if it moves steadily at the box office.

Among the top 10 in the list stand Avengers: Endgame at the top spot. The second and the third spots have been taken by Avatar: The Way of Water and The Force Awakens. Avengers: Infinity War takes the fourth spot while Spider-Man: No Way Home takes the fifth one.
