My Melbourne trailer : Four powerful stories of identity and resilience

The trailer for My Melbourne is out, giving us a first look at four moving stories set in Melbourne. Directed by Kabir Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Rima Das, and Onir, the film explores themes of identity, struggles, and human relationships. It’s releasing in India on 14th March 2025.

Each story is inspired by real-life events and touches on important issues like race, gender, sexuality, and disability. Set in the diverse and multicultural world of Melbourne, the film focuses on personal challenges and the power of acceptance.

Onir’s Nandini follows Indraneel, a queer Indian man trying to reconnect with his father. Jules, directed by Arif Ali under Imtiaz Ali’s creative guidance, is about a newlywed woman who forms an unexpected bond with a homeless woman.

Rima Das’ Emma tells the story of a deaf dancer struggling with self-doubt until she finds inspiration from another dancer like her. Kabir Khan’s Setara is the real-life journey of a 15-year-old Afghan girl who escapes the Taliban and finds a new life in Melbourne through cricket.
