The ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. During the monologue, he said, “For those of you watching from India, I want to say Namaskar. Waha subha ho chuki hai toh mujhe umeed hai ki aap aap Nashte ke saath Oscar dekh rahe hai.” (Greetings to the people of India. It’s already morning there so I hope you are having your breakfast while watching the Oscars). As soon as he said this, the clip went viral on social media and received mixed reactions from the netizens.

Netizens also praised him for attempting to speak in a foreign language and noted that he rehearsed for it multiple times. “Conan had to rehearse the part where he talked in the Spanish, India, and Chinese languages like over 20 times. Respect. #Oscars2025.

This made Conan the first Oscars host to speak in Hindi on stage.

Meanwhile, this year, Anora emerged as the big winner. It took home 5 Academy Awards including the Best Picture Award, Best Actress Win for Micky Madison and Best Director for Sean Baker. The Brutalist lead Adrien Brody won the Best Actor in a Leading Role Award whereas Kieran Culkin bagged the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain. On the other hand, Zoe Saldana won Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Perez.
