Rohit Shetty calls Vicky Kaushal the next Ajay Devgn

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn have a bond that goes back a long way. The director-actor duo has worked on several commercial entertainers such as the Golmaal franchise and the Singham franchise. In a recent interview, Rohit Shetty said that there is one actor who he thinks can be the next Ajay Devgn and it is none other than Vicky Kaushal.

In a conversation with Mukesh Chhabra, he said, “I have made such films in my entire career, in which there is a block, a question that who is the next Ajay Devgn? I can see that in Vicky. He can pull of any role. And it did not happen suddenly, Vicky has had that growth. If my son wants to debut as an actor it won’t be a Rohit Shetty film. I’ll leave him to explore web shows, smaller roles and once you get the acceptance from the audience then come in the films. That’s what Vicky’s journey has been.” Rohit Shetty’s son Ishaan is currently enrolled at the Central Film School in London.

Meanwhile, talking of Vicky, he is gearing up for his next film Chhaava where he will play the character of the Maratha king Sambhaji. He also has Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar in the pipeline where he will be seen as Chiranjeevi Parashurama.
