Sanam Teri Kasam 2 NOT happening? Producer claims rights issue

The 2016 romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam has surpassed its initial box office run and found appreciation upon its re-release. Starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, the film is more popular than ever. Its directors, Radhika Rao and Vijay Sapru have announced sequel plans. However, the film’s producer is claiming rights issues.
In an interview with a leading news portal, producer Deepak Mukut opened up about the Sanam Teri Kasam sequel. He shared that the Intellectual Property (IP) lies with him and not directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. He also shared that he had announced a sequel earlier last year with Harshvardhan Rane reprising his role as the lead.
Mukut reportedly claimed that Radhika and Vinay should reach out to him for sequel talks rather than him reaching out to them. The producer also shared an important update on Sanam Teri Kasam 2 revealing that it’s in the writing phase. The film will go into production once the script is finalised.

Sanam Keri Kasam released back in 2016. The film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 14 crore. It did not make waves at the box office, earning only an estimated Rs 9.1 crore during its theatrical run. Since its re-release, the film has been a crowd-puller in theatres.
