Tamannaah Bhatia summoned by ED for illegal streaming case

Stree 2 actress Tamannaah Bhatia was summoned by Guwahati’s Enforcement Directorate on Thursday for allegedly encouraging illegal streaming of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches on a subsidiary application of the Mahadev online gambling and betting platform.
She arrived at the ED office with her mother in the afternoon. The actress’ statement was recorded at the zonal office as per the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). According to several reports by a leading media portal, there were no ‘incriminating’ accusations on Tamannaah. However, it has been noted that she took money to make an appearance at an event from the app company.
The actress had previously missed ED’s summons due to work commitments. Previously, Bollywood celebrities including Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor had also made headlines for starring in the application’s advertisements. A subsidiary of the Mahadev online gambling app, Fairplay, also offers a variety of gaming options.
