South films in the last couple of years have truly attained the pan-Indian status. With the massive hit of Pushpa 2: The Rule and even the popularity of Devara: Part 1, people are looking forward to further releases. We have curated a list of the most anticipated South films of 2025.

Game Changer 

With Game Changer, fans will see a solo Ram Charan film after a long time and he will also be collaborating with Kiara Advani for the first time. He will be essaying the role of an IAS officer while Kiara will be playing his love interest. Game Changer is set to be released on January 10, 2025.

Coolie

Megastar Rajinikanth has collaborated with Lokesh Kanagaraaj for Coolie which also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan and others. The film is set to release in 2025.

Thug Life

Kamal Haasan will be seen in a fierce and rugged avatar in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life which is touted to be a narrative of grit and survival. The film is set to hit theatres worldwide on June 5, 2025.

The Raja Saab

The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, revolves around a young man who seeks to encash his ancestral property to solve a financial crisis. The film promises to be a unique blend of horror and comedy. It also stars Nidhi Agerwal as the female lead along with Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Anupam Kher and Brahmanandam. The Raja Saab will have a theatrical release on April 10, 2025.

Thalapathy 69 will see actor Vijay play the role of a cop. The H Vinoth directorial marks his return to the character of a police after Theri (2016). Alongside Vijay, the film will feature Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles.

Toxic

Toxic marks actor Yash’s next big venture after the massive success of KGF. It is being helmed by Geethu Mohandas and is slated to be released on April 10, 2025.

Kantara: Chapter 1

Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara was one of the most talked about films after its release and it earned the actor a National Award. Kantara: Chapter 1 will delve into the origins of the folklore. Directed by Shetty, it will see the actor-director return in the lead role as well. The film will be released on October 2, 2025.
