October promises a lineup of exciting series and films for all tastes. Be it superhero adventures, psychological thrillers or action-packed stories, there is something for everyone. From Joker 2 to Venom: The Last Dance, here are some of the Hollywood films and series releasing in October.
Hold Your Breath
Release date: October 3, 2024
Set in 1930s, Hold Your Breath follows a young mother who is haunted by the past and becomes convinced that a mysterious presence is threatening her family. What she does to protect her family from the mysterious presence in dust storms follows the crux of the psychological horror film. It is directed by Karrie Crouse and stars Sarah Paulson, Amiah Miller and Annaleigh Ashford among others. Hold Your Breath will be released as a Hulu original film on October 3.
Joker: Folie à Deux
Release date: October 4, 2024
This sequel to Joker (2019) will see Joaquin Phoenix reprise his role as the Joker with Lady Gaga joining the cast as Harley Quinn. The plot follows Arthur Fleck, who is institutionalised in Arkham, waiting for a trail for his crimes. He falls in love with a fellow inmate, and they experience life as a musical through their mutual insanity. Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker 2 is scheduled to have a theatrical release on October 4.

A pre-wedding reunion goes wrong for a group of college friends after a surprise guest arrives with a mysterious suitcase. This would make for a perfect watch for the ones who love psychological dramas. Directed by Greg Jardin, the movie is scheduled to release on October 4 on Netflix.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft
Release date: October 10, 2024
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is an action anime series based on the Tomb Raider video game series. It takes place after the 2013-2018 reboot trilogy. Starring Hayley Atwell as the voice of Lara Croft, the series will release on Netflix on October 10.
Venom: The Last Dance
Release date: October 25, 2024
Venom: The Last Dance follows Eddie Brock and the symbiote Venomas they go on the run after being hunted by both their worlds. Tom Hardy reprises his role as Brock and Venom, along with Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans and Alanna Ubach.
