Vinod Kambli biopic: New updates revealed on the cricketerâs birthday

A biopic based on the varied chapters of the veteran cricketer Vinod Kambli is currently in progress. As the sports star celebrates his birthday today, sources have revealed further details of the project.

After Sachin: A Billion Dreams, it is learnt that Ravi Bhagchandka’s 200NOTOUT will also be producing Vinod Kambli’s biopic. The project is said to be written and directed by Abhijeet Deshpande, who is known for his association with iconic Marathi as well as Hindi films including De Dhakka, Mi Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy and Natasamrat among others.

A source close to the project shares, “The Vinod Kambli biopic has been in the works for quite a few years now, the rights for the same were attained almost five years ago. With the recent developments in the cricketer’s life, it would be interesting to witness how the story paces out portraying the different stages of his journey, however, it is not yet clear whether it would be a film or a series. Ravi has delivered another very successful sports biographical drama in the past and the production house has been working on multiple projects across genres broadening the horizon.”

Recently Vinod Kambli made the headlines after his appearance at the memorial event for coach Ramakant Achrekar. The deteriorating health of the cricketer created concern amongst cricket fans across quarters while the emotional reunion with former best friend Sachin Tendulkar filled everyone with tears.
